Description

Position Summary:

Receives, stores and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs or tools and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse and/or storage yard by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR's) as defined by BMED's practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to insure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met.

  • Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
  • Counts, sorts or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice.
  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size or type of material.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Assists Stores Clerk in preparing job kits.
  • Prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock.
  • Reports on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes and refusal of shipments.
  • Marks identifying codes, figures or letters on articles.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.
  • Assists with building maintenance as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Required Knowledge:

  • The ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • The ability to write short correspondence.
  • The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and employees of the organization.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of six months experience in material handling, warehouse or related work.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Forklift experience

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to pass both physical and skill tests required to safely operate a forklift.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  • The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
